Project Description

Croft Road

Oxford
Croft Road is an extension and complete low-energy refurbishment of a 1930s mid-terrace house in Oxford. The original property was poorly insulated and had been neglected for many years, resulting in a cold, damp and leaky environment with areas of mould growth internally. The occupants’ growing family meant that a more practical, comfortable and healthier home was required.
The project doubles the amount of floor area in the house, creating a large open-plan living space with an abundance of natural daylight, transforming the way the occupants use and experience their home. High levels of thermal insulation and natural materials where appropriate were used to vastly improve thermal performance, thermal comfort and indoor air quality.
